Zune Phone Not Gonna Happen

Steve Ballmer has announced that the rumour that the Zune Phone will be in our pockets as false. He said that it's "not a concept you'll ever get from us".

However, his commments don't preclude the Zune functionality being placed into the Windows Mobile OS, or even the XBox.

Zune V2 to be Powered by Fuel Cells?

Another rumour flying round the internet is that Microsoft's new Zune V2 will be powered by fuel cells.

It all started with the new s that Medis Technologies sole some of their cell re-chargers to Microsoft, although we're not sure how many or what for.

It would be cool if they do as we all hate running out of power on our MP3 players.

Of course its only conjecture, but hey ...

Even More Details Released

Scouting around even more it looks like the new Zune Phone will offers a gadget based UI where you can connect with your eBay auctions, your other music players, weather forecasts and watch TV.

Another possible feature is the ability to go "online" so your friends can track you and send you instant messages. Now it looks like Microsoft have a real contender for the iPhone!

Basic Details Released

Here are some basic details we've found about the new Zune Phone:
  • It will be a smartphone that works seamlessly with the Zune marketplace.
  • It will, obviously, run Windows Mobile.
  • It'll be very similar in appearance to the Zune MP3 Player
  • It will be able to sync with your Xbox 360 and be able to stream video from the system to the phone via WiFi.
  • It'll be out for Christ mass this year!
